Barceloneta Beach

Beach in the city or the beach close to the center of Barcelona. Sandy beach, long about 1100 m, is one of the oldest and most visited. It is a favorite resting place not only for foreign visitors but also for local residents. Barceloneta is easily accessible by public transport (metro stop Barceloneta, yellow line L4). It stretches from the Port Olimpic, to the street in Barceloneta Almirall Cervera, where it connects to the southernmost beach in Barcelona: Playa de Sant Sebastià. Along it you will find another beach town, which, especially in the high season (June - September), bursting at the seams. At the beginning of Barceloneta, the Port Olimpic, therefore, a famous statue in the shape of fish, you can find many shops, cafes and pubs.

Of note is worth a number of restaurants that offers a fresh fish and seafood menu, freshly caught and prepared immediately to your consummation. If you visit the Barceloneta beach, you must be prepared for some constant pervasive harassment of street vendors, who offer cans of beer, ice cream to massage, everything you can monetize. On the other hand, you will find in it many different ways to spend your leisure time - there are ping-pong tables, volleyball courts, a skating area, a library, an open-air gym, which is free to the public and other attractions. For attention, especially families with children, is a large L'Aquarium Barcelona which is dominated by 80 m long underwater tunnel, full of sharks and rays, which will ride directly over your head.

In connection with the Barceloneta we mention the Hospital del Mar, which stands in front of the beach. It is said, it's a hospital with best sea view in the world.

Barceloneta serves not only for sunbathing, swimming and observing the life of the port area, but the nightlife also. After tourists and families with children leaving the beach, many of local restaurants and bars change to night clubs.
